Spark Plug Savvy
March 08, 2011
Tom Howell of Gibsonia, PA offers this tip:
When changing sparkplugs, I loosen them up with the socket then slip a piece of fuel line hose over the plug to turn them out by hand. It works as a 'flex' tool to get into difficult angles. I do the same to install them. Once they're turned in by hand you can pull the hose off and finish with the socket. Another advantage, no crossthreading.
Stacey replies:
This works great and is especially effective around tight headers.
